A note from Fr. Craig…
Dear Family and Friends,
I will be returning to my home in Chicago in mid-October to begin serving as Chaplain to The Little Sisters of the Poor St. Mary's Home in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, located in the north side of the city, right next to DePaul University. As I complete 74 years of this life, it is time to return home.
The Little Sisters of the Poor, whom I have known all my life, minister to the elderly poor. I am very happy to begin this next chapter of my 48 years as a Priest in joining with The Little Sisters of the Poor in their important ministry in the Church and our society at large.
I have known the Little Sisters since the age of 10 when I served Mass at the original St. Joseph Home (now in Palatine, IL) on West Harrison Street, right next to my home Parish of Notre Dame de Chicago. From that time, The Little Sisters have been an inspiration to me then and now to serve the Church as a Priest and to have special concern for the sick and poor.
I ask for your prayers as I return to ministry in my home town and as I leave my ministry as Staff Chaplain of Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, CA, where I have served for the last 10 years, as well as my ministry at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert, CA for the last 10 years as celebrant of the Latin Mass.
If you wish to thank me for what I have done in ministry these past 10 years, please consider making a donation to The Little Sisters of the Poor in my name.
The address of St. Mary's Home proper is:
Little Sisters of the Poor
St. Mary's Home
2325 N. Lakewood
Chicago, IL 60614
In this building is located the Chapel, where I will celebrate Mass, and my office.
My new personal address in a complex of buildings that is part of St. Mary's Home after October 16th will be:
Rev. Donald R. Craig
2300 N. Racine Ave, #402
Chicago, IL 60614
My email will continue to be donaldcraig@aol.com and my cell # will remain as 312-550-0093.
Please pray for me as you are all in my prayers.
Father Don Craig
